Art Requirements/Preparation

A NOTE ABOUT DIGITAL ARTWORK                                                        

Production delays can occur when digital artwork is provided in the wrong format. Much time can be lost with efforts to convert files that are submitted without following the information guidelines below. Please contact us if you have any questions about the suitability of your digital files or any of our format requirements.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you also mail or fax a hard copy of the artwork and any special instructions. Please indicate your Order Number on the artwork if you know it.

Artwork is only as good as you provide.  Only vector art (.cdr or .eps) can be edited.  Unvectored files cannot be changed from their received size and quality without extensive rework by our artists.  Faxed, scanned or art which has been reproduced numerous times will not improve and will not look its best without additional clean up efforts. Please do not submit web graphics as they are produced in a resolution setting (generally 96 dpi) that is too low for our processes to reproduce attractively. We reserve the right to refuse any artwork that will not meet our standards of product quality when reproduced with our equipment and processes.

Preferred Program

CorelDraw 15.0 or earlier – PC format (.cdr file).   Please convert text to curves.

Other Accepted Programs - PC formatted ONLY - sorry, we cannot accept MAC files.

Most .eps - vector files

Most .pdf files - when saved as prepress. 

Adobe Illustrator – Windows, CS5 or earlier

Remember to convert text to outlines

Word, Publisher, Works, WordPerfect and other document programs are text programs, not art programs. Most art from these programs is not editable and often of poor quality and are unacceptable.

Image Resolution

Image resolution should be a minimum of 300 dpi at 100% imprint size for best reproduction

Font Information

Convert all text to outlines or curves. Please be aware that once this is done the text in your artwork can no longer be edited. If editing is required you must include the Font (TrueType only) with the file.

WE DO NOT HAVE EVERY FONT THAT IS AVAILABLE.                                                        

Color Art or Black and White art.

Each lettering process has it's own individual art needs.  For example, it is impossible to use full color art or art with half tones (grey) when etching crystal, only black and white line art is acceptable. Please ask your representative what type of art is required for your selections. Always advise us in advance if a specific PMS color is required.  Not all processes are PMS capable.

NOTE: Following these instructions does not guarantee the art will output. If any of the above is not possible, please send in Camera Ready Art (film or slick), 600 dpi or greater.

Artwork, Editing and Art Touch-Up will be billed at $40.00 per hour. Minimum charge is $20.00.
